How We Work . . .

Unlike many firms, we enjoy the luxury of being selective in choosing our clients.   We feel one can only do one's best work when their passion is aroused for that cause.  It is often argued that the sign of a true professional is in being able to  rise  above their personal feelings and consistently deliver for the client no matter what they personally feel . . . which we say is proven on many dark city street-corners any evening.  We will only work for causes that we fully believe in.

We strive to work as quickly as the client organization can bear.  We believe there are but three things any counsel can provide:  objectivity, candor and experience.

Our experience is long and deep, having served the full spectrum of philanthropy from major international charities to small emerging causes,  including foundations, Fortune 500 corporations, municipalities and associations.   Our service covers all aspects of planning, public relations, fund raising and marketing.   We have developed teaching papers over decades of continuing professional education presentations we have provided.  We freely share these with clients as appropriate.

Our "bottom line" is not our fiscal bottom line, but to provide a service that will leave our clients stronger and more self-reliant than before we became friends.    We expect to frequently hear the easiest question in the world to ask and the hardest to answer:  "Why?"   It is our job to know the  "why's" of our profession.

We bring vast experience which produces objectivity that is only possible from someone outside an organization.  The hallmark of our service is our candor - our clients must be prepared to hear it like it is, and not expect us to tell them what they want to hear.
